What changes have been made to the 2018 Hyundai Elantra?

Since the Hyundai Elantra was just remodeled in 2017, there are few changes for the 2018 model year. However, there is one big chance with huge value: the addition of the SEL trim level! This trim level replaces what was formerly the Popular Equipment package. SEL models offer it all, from basics such as air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver's seat, antilock brakes, a six-speaker audio system, and cruise control, all the way to premium advanced features. These extra features include 16-inch premium alloy wheels, automatic headlights, rear seat cupholders, Bluetooth connectivity, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, blind-spot monitoring, heated power side mirrors, a rearview camera, satellite radio, a leather-trimmed steering wheel with integrated audio controls, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, and even sun visor extensions. This new trim level truly strikes the balance between comfort and affordability.

What other trim levels are available for the Hyundai Elantra of 2018?

There are a total of six trim levels for the 2018 model year, including the all-new SEL trim. All the trim levels are SE, SEL, Value Edition, Limited, Eco, and Sport. SE models hit all the basics-they're perfect for commuters or for those looking to keep the budget low! They come standard with front disc and rear drum brakes, 15-inch steel wheels, a 3.5-inch display, a six-speaker audio system, air-conditioning, and a height-adjustable driver seat. Automatic-transmission-equipped models of the SE also feature Bluetooth phone connectivity, steering-wheel-integrated audio controls, and cruise control. Value Edition models add extra comfort to the SEL's features by including a sunroof, door-handle approach lights, LED daytime running lights, heated front seats, a hands-free trunk release, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Eco models are meant for peak fuel economy with a unique engine and transmission, and they contain all the features of the Value Edition except the auto-dimming rearview mirror and sunroof and is equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels. Limited models offer the most luxury features of the lineup; standard equipment for the Limited includes LED taillights, a power driver seat, leather upholstery, 17-inch alloy wheels, three USB ports, Hyundai Blue Link, and exclusive styling features. Sport models include their own peppy engine, 18-inch alloy wheels, tires with ample grip, an advanced suspension system with firm tuning, leather upholstery on heated front sports seats, xenon headlights, stronger brakes, and a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel.

What engine options are available for the 2018 Hyundai Elantra?

There are three engine options for the latest Hyundai Elantra. Excluding Eco and Sport models, all Elantras come standard with a 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that charges them up with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. SE models can be found with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, although all others come exclusively with the 6-speed automatic. Elantra Eco models feature a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four that cranks out 128 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque while paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain achieves up to 40 miles per gallon! Alternatively, Elantra Sport models come standard with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes an astonishing 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual.
